Use the Subconscious Mind for a Better Life

I think by now most of the world has heard about the subconscious mind from famous people, books, authors, movies and positive vibe groups.

I thought I would take it down several notches and explain how it works in laments terms.

Please note that these are just my opinions and I will list what I feel works because there is a lot of things out there, but I prefer to be honest and list what I feel works.

This is an honest blog and it is to help others without all the marketing.

The Subconscious.

Basically, your brain processes information like a computer does. Some processes are done automatically without you needing to be conscious of them. A great example of this is when you sleep. You breathe automatically while sleeping, it is not something that you have to think of, you just do it.

This is an example of a subconscious process. The reason why people find books on the subconscious so interesting is because of their habits, behavior and finding a way to alter them.

The reason for writing about this is simply because I believe that we have set processes, and they originate from our childhood.

This is often why so many people develop habits from their parents that they cannot break, they become accustomed to it and it becomes their lives. They experienced it day-in and day-out, which forms a habit that becomes embedded in their minds.

A simple example of this is when parents drink or smoke. I know of many people that had an alcoholic in the family, they despised alcohol, but they still became alcoholics themselves.

WHY? I simply believe that they got used to the idea and it became so natural to them, that they started drinking and it felt familiar. Obviously, this is not the case for all, but it does happen and a great part of these habits are the 'beliefs' that go into them.

I will get into the 'belief system' shortly, but this is why the subconscious is so powerful and why it is important to get rid of bad habits and replace them with good ones.

The next question will probably be, well how can we change these things if they were embedded in us since we were born? The simple answer is. Repetition.

There are a few ways and I will share some ways that I feel worked for me. (bottom)

Your Belief System

For those that have never read about this, there are many good books on the subject. I will share them below so you can buy them and support the authors.

The belief system is a great part of the subconscious mind because the two of them work together or against one another. The 'trick' to getting your subconscious mind to agree with your new habit is to genuinely believe in it. Believe it or not, the simplicity in this does really work, but the problem is that they do not believe in the things that they want most.

Call it a mental block, lack of faith, disbelief or the fact that it is too hard to believe, but they just cannot convince themselves that they can do it. It is as if they are lying to themselves, so that is why it does not work for them.

So, let us use a nice example. Johnny wants to be a millionaire with all his heart. He works hard, gets paid well, but he wants more. He has a house, debt, loves his career, and is in a comfortable position. From a poor background, he told himself that he would never go through that ever again. His subconscious process was so strong that he got out of poverty. Obviously, he worked hard and it paid off, but he does not think or believe that he can be a millionaire.

He has tried and failed, but he does not believe it. This is an example of how he is successful, but he is limited by not believing that he can do it. The point is that if he could change his belief system, and really believe that he could do it, then he could achieve it.

This is where the subconscious and belief system work against or for each other. He really has a desire, but doubt and comfort will conflict with his subconscious mind, so he will not become a millionaire.

I know that these are very big and extravagant examples, but I use them as an easy way to explain to people what these theories are and how they 'work.'

Conditioning

If you ever need examples of conditioning and how it affects people, then you just need to talk to your friends and see how they live. The great examples to look out for, are usually about money, how they spend their money, and how they see the world.

Go back to your home, imagine when you were a child and think of all that conditioning you went through. What time you had to get up, how you had to go to school, how you had a routine, and how that routine was out of your control. (to a large extent.)

In the first stages of your life, you are taught by your parents, what is right and what is wrong. What you can do and what you can't do. Plans for your future were made for you before you were even born. To think that so many people do not think, that these affect you in the least is amazing, but hey each to their own.

Now that you are looking back. Can you see how much those small things affected your life in such a big way? The friends you hung out with. How you all influenced each other. So many millions of thoughts, decisions, and beliefs were taken into your subconscious mind. You currently are a result of that blueprint, and that is why many people want to change their outcomes.

For people with parents that had addictions, money issues, health issues, and spiritual issues. Isn't it incredible how many of those same things affect you today? Your views might be completely opposite, but that is because you were going against these beliefs entirely and that is what changed that for you. This is why conditioning is old, powerful and runs deep. It takes inserting new beliefs into your subconscious mind to change your blueprint. It can be done if you are willing to delve deep and remedy old belief systems that no longer serve you.

Changing your belief systems and embed them into your subconscious mind.

There are several techniques that one can use to remove the old and replace them with new ones. Please see a short list below, and a summary of how to do each one.

5. Subliminal messaging.

The best time to do this is just before you sleep. The quickest and easiest way to do this is to hop onto YouTube and find 'subliminal meditation videos.' They are videos with visual and audio effects that are designed to replace your bad belief systems. They are to be played while you meditate or just before you sleep. There are different ways to use them, but they are really effective.

I used to lie down. Close my eyes and think about what my limited thoughts were. If it was about money, I would then use one for wealth and listen to it before I slept. Very powerful stuff. Find something suitable for your ears because some beats are just too fast-paced for my liking and drive me crazy ;)

4. Meditation (silent or light music)

Meditation is a great way to get in touch with your thoughts and mindset. I enjoy meditating to change my processing. The best way for me to do this is to do it very late or very early morning. Usually, when energy consumption is at its lowest. This is mostly because I feel like Wi-Fi, cellphones, TVs, and electronics, in general, are very interfering.

I like it to be quiet, peaceful and uninterrupted. You can use earphones or noise-cancellation earplugs to block out all the noise and sit in a comfortable spot. Focus by getting yourself into the present moment and letting go of your thoughts.

Once you get to the point where you are in the present moment, then focus on what it is you really want. Picture yourself in that perfect place and be as detailed as possible. Visualization is very important as it creates the feeling of already accomplishing it. This makes it much easier for your subconscious to accept this as your reality.

Try to meditate on achieving it, once you are finished with the visualization. Picture how you are going to achieve that outcome. See yourself working at it, believing in it and feeling the joy of achieving it.

Once the meditation is over and you still have the feeling of the present moment. Sit down and reflect on your thoughts. Do not focus on negative thoughts but try to replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. Speak if necessary and say it with authority. Tell yourself that you can do it. Tell yourself why you need to do it and why you will do it. Turn this into a mantra.

Eliminate the negative and replace it with the positive. This works wonders.

3. Vision Board.

With meditation or subliminal messaging. Put up a vision board. Make it relevant, real and realistic. Put pictures on it with your desired outcome. Make sure that you use pictures of yourself and your loved ones. Put it in a central place so that it can be viewed frequently. Add places you want to travel to, a check with the amount that you want to earn, the car you want, the house you would like or the place you want to end up living in. Whatever it is that you want, should be on that board so that you can subconsciously always have it in the back of your mind.

2. Belief Editing by Repetition.

Good results come from this one. This involves sitting in a quiet space alone or working with your partner and writing down the personal things that you really want. Put together a list, once done you are done with the list then read it out loud and see how it makes you feel. If you feel good, there is no nagging feeling or upset feeling in your stomach then it is a good one that your body and mind agree with.

However, if there is a feeling of conflict. This could be thoughts, heart or stomach then go back to your list and highlight which ones are the issue. The ones that are causing conflict are not ideal and should be edited into something else.

So let's do an example. I will have enough money to buy a new Ferrari.

Say this one gives you a conflicted feeling. You can change your words or re-look at the way you have structured it.

New examples. Buy Ferrari / New Ferrari / Money Ferrari / Ferrari Money / own new Ferrari.

I find that short words work better for feelings that run deep. These shorter keywords seem to relax the mind and make it easier to embed them. It also helps to remove the resistance.

You're going to need the feeling to work with the subconscious.

Now, that the list is done. You can start by repeating each line several times. You can do this in a group or by yourself. Try to do it out loud and project your voice. Use visualization, feeling and do it as though it were really going to happen. Repeat this every night and see how it works.

1. Most effective — Replace negative with positive.

My favorite and most used one is very much like number 2. Except I use the negative and then the positive to cancel them out.

This is the one that works for me. Some people agree and others disagree, but I feel that the best way to end the conflict is to say the negative one, feel it and then say the positive one and feel it. To me, it feels like it ends the conflict and creates an opportunity for me to create a new belief system and enter it into my subconscious mind.

Example: I cannot run five miles today — breathe in; breathe out.

I can run five miles today — breathe in; breathe out.

Now, that I have canceled both of them out. I can repeat the positive one over and over.
