How to actually achieve your goals

As my first blog post, wrote this originally and thought. Am I going to be like every other blogger? Nope, just be myself. So here we are.

This blog is not for the faint-hearted and I am not going to sugar-coat things,
You are either going to love or hate what I am going to say and that is fine.

The truth is that most people that I meet often talk about their goals but that is all that it is. TALK.
To achieve the goals you need to focus, act and persevere with them.

Life is full of distractions. Women, bars, men, clubs, social media, movies, series, video games, gambling, sex, and the list is never-ending

The hard truth is that most of us say that we really want something but do we really? When the chips are down we are too busy with entertainment or something to distract us from our busy schedules.

The bottom line here is that many of us make excuses and that is why we never end up getting what we really want.

Now that we are done with our excuses and have found desires again, let's look at how we can get you in a goal-setting mindset.

1. Write it down

I use a journal to keep track of my day-to-day objectives and long-term goals.
Journals are not for everyone but I would highly recommend using something to keep a record.
Other things that you could use instead of a journal could be a digital diary on your laptop, sticky notes on your phone or even a simple to-do list.

2. Short and sweet objectives

Make it as simple as possible when writing. Do not make them long and detailed as it will make you feel like it is a chore. Great example to use - call 50 old clients and follow up.
I find that long and detailed objectives tend to stress me out. It could just be me but I would rather have a short and simple list than a detailed essay which never gets done.

3. Self-Discipline

This is one of the hardest ones. Once you master this skill I am pretty sure you can do anything.
Please get into the habit of noticing that you say you are going to do it and then you don't. That just shows me and it shows you that you actually do not really want to do it. If you are not going to do the objectives that you want to achieve for the day then do not bother writing them down. You need to be focused, hungry and dedicated to making your life better. You need to get to the point where you finish all your work first and then relax later. Later will unlikely come and that will be another day wasted. Take action and work towards those objectives and goals.

4. Dedicate your time to it

It's all well putting down objectives to complete by the end of the day. The thing is to allocate time to complete them. There is no use putting down the objective if there is no time to do it. Allocate the time, stick to it and ensure that it fits into your day. If it requires sacrificing some movies or gaming then do it. The distractions will always be there later.

5. Stop listening to your friends

I love friends, family members and even loved ones but the only one that is going to get you from point A to point Z is YOU. Go to school, have a baby, I want grandchildren, you need to be a lawyer, you can't make money doing that... don't some of those silly things sound familiar? Everyone has so much to say, mostly negative statements about what you can and cannot do but who are they really? Do they pay your bills? Do they actually care and would they help you if you were down and out on the streets?

You need to be smart and yes, take advice from friends and family but do not let them tell you that you cannot do something or be something. You can do anything and be anyone that you want to be. It will require hard work, planning, goal-setting, and discipline but you can do it.
No one has the right to tell you that.

You need to look deep within yourself and ask yourself. What is it that I really want to do? It does not have to be forever, but ask yourself honestly as if no one cared. What would you do if money was no issue and you could do anything? What makes you get up in the morning? What gets you so excited that you could go out on the streets now to talk to anyone about that subject?

Those questions could lead to what it is that you really want. You just need to sit down with yourself and figure out what it is that you want. It is possible & it is out there if you really want it.
Listen to your heart and trust your gut.
